Are you saying that God doesn’t care much what we do on this earth, as long as we love Him?

I guess this is one area where the Jewish perspective is quite different from the Christian one. In Jewish theology, it is said that the righteous among all nations will have a share in the world-to-come, meaning that living a righteous life is paramount.

That doesn’t just mean a life free from personal sins, but also a life that takes seriously the concept of “tikkun olam,” our obligation to heal and repair the world. If we are not called to perform righteous acts, then what is the point?

I got to meet them back in 2003, and their concert was more like a worship service: all the focus on God. I love the Psalms album, where many of the lyrics come straight from the Bible.
