Sharing Fun

Greetings from Portland. Yes…I’m still alive. Life has been on warp speed for the past month…and I’m just trying to keep my head above the water as we speed into the last leg of our tour! Thanks for your patience :) In the meantime, here are some fun web thingys I have come across lately:

Ever wondered what you could do with an old basketball? Check out this useful site: How Can I Recycle This?

For all you photo junkies out there…here is how you can make a headboard from a photo. I am so doing this someday when I have a real wall to put it on :)

Looking for some inspiration to get your digital photos out of the computer and up onto your walls? Apartment Therapy has some great ideas for hanging art, many of which include photos. I especially love the plexiglass wall project.

Need something to do while the little one is sleeping on your lap at the computer? Quiz yourself here. It’s fun.

If you’re not reading Emily’s blog, you should be. We had the joy of staying with their family in California and had such a fabulous time. She takes pretty pictures and makes amazing art.

I found your links very inspiring and interesting in this post! I need to check out blowing up some of my favorite pics for wall art. I always thought it would look super grainy.

Welcome back, Sara! Don’t you worry, you have enough fabulous things here to read while you’re taking traveling hiatuses…or is it hiati? But, that may be mistaken with Haiti, LOL.

I love the link that you shared for photo display ideas…rock on, mama!

I kept checking your blog this week, hoping you would have an “event” in Portland. (I live in Portland.)

In the past year, we sold our 1400 sq ft house, and moved (with baby) into a 1 bedroom apartment. We’ve discussed living on the road (like you), but are leaning more towards the direction of a “Tiny House” (thanks to the link on your site!).

I love your blog; it is so inspiring.
    Blessings on your travels!

I’ve been looking at and falling in love with “tiny living” lately and found your blog through a Flickr group. I would like to ask you if I could do a short interview, perhaps 5 or so questions and a picture or two of your choice, for some “Tiny Lifer” profiles I’m planning for my blog.

You can see the referencing post here if you’d like to see what I’m talking about.

Each profile is intended to give people who are living in conventionally sized homes (1500+ square feet) a look into what it’s like to downsize, whether for ecological or financial reasons, or simply a desire to simplify their lives.

If you’d be interested, please email me at greenplantDOTblogATgmailDOTcom with the name of your blog and your square footage. I’m hoping to keep most of the profiles in the 1200 square foot or less range.

    Thank you!

I haven’t been checking my favorite blogs as often as I usually do, so it was nice to see that I hadn’t missed too much. Thanks for taking the time to write and share!

Any idea when you’ll be heading back to Iowa?

I’ve had great fun pinning the flag on the map of the world. It’s a shame I thought Uraguay was in Africa but apart from that I did quite well.

I really want to do the same thing from Apartment therapy– I bought the frames from Urban Outfitters, but my question is– how do you keep cost down as far as printing your pics to fit the frames. Went to a printing place and they said it would be $20 ea.. too much!!! Any suggestions on this??

    thanks!
