Emily Falconbridge Giveaway!

emily camera strap

I have been an admirer of Emily Falconbridge’s camera straps for quite some time now…and when we stayed with her family in San Diego, I became the proud owner of one! Thanks Emily! :) Her straps are just too cool to pass up…whether you just started taking photos or you’ve been shooting your entire life, you need one of her straps. Why have a boring factory strap around your neck when you can look fabulous with one of Em’s?!

Here is what they look like around the necks some amazing women :)

photographers with em’s strap
Tara Whitney | Ali Edwards | Cathy Zielske

Emily generously donated the red and orange strap that you see above for a giveaway on this blog. Yay yay yay! So…all you have to do is come out of lurkerdom and leave me a comment. Any comment. Tell me what you are doing this weekend. Tell me how you found my blog. Tell me your favorite thing about summer…or something that no one would ever guess about you. It’s a free for all :)

I will choose the winner at random on July 11. Of course, it would be great if you would tell all the photographers you know about her site as well. Or, buy some extra straps for the photographers in your life. She is constantly updating and posting new and different designs, so be sure to check back often.

Let the giveaway begin…

As for this weekend, we spent today hiking in the woods. I am not sure what the plans are for the rest of it but it was a great family time for us and we got to see a lot of deer!

July 11 is my birthday, what a great present that would be! Lol. The strap is gorgeous. I found your blog after I stumbled across your Happy Foody blog. It wasn’t until much later that I noticed you had GCM listed as one of your happy places. I’m a member of GCM as well. I was just marveling last night over the craziness of coming across your blog randomly and then noticing a link to GCM on it. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

    Hi!

I found your site through Emily’s site:) Love what you are doing, especially your food site. I am getting more and more inspired to eat raw and I loved the coleslaw! I’m also curious about the exact proportions you put in your wipes container, i.e., Dr. Bronner’s etc.? Do you keep track?

Sara, I found your blog through Simpleliving.net. I have followed your story from the beginning and I am truly awed and inspired by you and your family. Today is my hubby’s birthday but he is deployed to the Persian Gulf but me and my son are still making a cake, having a picnic and will watch the fireworks. I am trying to teach my son to love each day no matter the difficulties we are face with. I look forward to your continuing journey.

    Cheers,
    Heather

I love your blog and that you encourage a lifestyle I can really stand behind. :) My fiance are currently trying to plan a very simple wedding for under $1,000, employing all of our friends to help out and share in the celebration of love. Getting back to the basics, in a way. One of my dearest friends is a professional photographer (http://www.ericlaurits.com/) and he has gratuitously agreed to shoot our wedding. These straps are the perfect “Thank You” gift. I plan on getting him one, and several of his photog friends that I’ve befriended over the years! THANK YOU so much for the wonderful idea. Keep up the great work on the blog.

    My best,
    Jenn

I really enjoy your blog!! Check in frequently…and have used some of your recipes and food ideas…with plans to try out more!!

And we just got back from a quick overnight trip to Aiken, SC to visit with friends we used to live near in Richland, WA…and had not seen in a decade!! Their grown son close in age to our older 2 children also came over from Charlotte!! It was SO FUN and we never came up for air…all of us talking our heads off!! MORE we could have shared had we time too. They and we have made lots of changes in our lives…and they, like we, have food allergies and are always looking for new ideas, etc. They took us to their health food stores…what fun!! SO that is how we spent our 3rd/4th. (We also wanted to see Aiken cause we could be transferred there this fall…and it IS an amazing town…one of the most beautiful we have seen…you surely would enjoy it, were you ever back in this area again!!) Happy travels!!

Hi Sara-I found your blog through the Mothering forums and have been inspired ever since. I have also been reading Emily and Tara’s blogs. I have been inspired by all of you ladies-your creativity and total commitment to self-expression. Thank you for putting yourself out there, your experiences (and those of Emily and Tara) have inspired me to open myself up and try new things. Over the last year I was working in child welfare and during that time I became very disconnected from myself and the world around me, your blogs have inspired me to try to heal and to forgive myself for not being stronger.
    Thanks, Katrina

I do hope your family has a lovely holiday.

I’ve been looking for a good camera strap for along time. I know what’s going to be on my Christmas list this year!

We have read the Declaration of Independence today. We haven’t decided if we will go out into the city and see what’s happening or not. We did get some bread dough going for pizza later though.

This weekend I will be finishing prep for my mission trip to the Czech Republic - I will be teaching conversational English and sharing Christ with students from one of the most atheistic cultures in Europe! So excited - this is my second trip out there.

Unfortunately I am in the UK so you may not want to mail anything to me if I was to win! (Although as I’m visiting the States later this summer I could provide a state-side address). I thought I’d delurk nonetheless!

I think I was cruising for ‘environmantal’ blogs for my library science course about the internet when I stumbled across yours.

This week-end looks like more painting this time the office, and weeding. Now that the vegetable garden looks good it is time to get the flower beds in order before beginning the new project….

What do you say to someone who has challenged and inspired you in so many ways and yet you’ve never met?! From tats, to dreads, to rawness, to living in an RV, its been so fun to read of your adventures. I know our paths will cross in eternity, if not in “real” life.

I think I would give the strap to my dearest friend who’s been battling a rare form of blood cancer in her brain. I think she’s forgotten her love and skill of photography, maybe it would inspire her during this trying time. The strap’s colors are so hopeful.

Thanks for your blog - I continually resonate with your values and lifestyle, and think we could be great pals. My sister-in-law is eating raw now too, inspired by your choices too. I’ve been reading your blog for maybe a year now. I’ve learned so much, and I appreciate that it is a Christian perspective. All the pretty photos of your tiny apartment in Montana got me hooked, and gave me fresh eyes for all the possibilities for our small house. I’ve actually been a reader of Ali Edwards blog for several years. It’s funny how things connect. Anyway, that strap would look fabulous with the camera I just ordered! Have a great day!

    Good morning Sara,

Here’s my plan today: I’m leaving my 1 year old and 3 year old with my hubby so that I can take my 4 year old to the library. These are the books on my list:
    * The new David Sedaris book! (When you are engulfed in flames)
    * A hilarious children’s book: Little Pea — the story of a little pea who is forced to eat candy for dinner
    * The essence of paradise : fragrant plants for indoor gardens
    * The ultimate book of homeschooling ideas : 500+ fun and creative learning activities for kids ages 3-12
    * Playful parenting : a bold new way to nurture close connections, solve behavior problems, and encourage children’s confidence
    * The hundred-year lie : how to protect yourself from the chemicals that are destroying your health
    * And of course, whatever else catches my eye ;)

I wear my huge Nikon like an accessory and really need to spruce up my wardrobe — but as part of my simple life I am not buying anything for awhile ;) Help me please!

Thanks and have a great day!

    Ooh, the straps are funky!

Tomorrow I’m flying to New Orleans for the week to attend a conference as an interpreter. I’m very excited about seeing friends at the conference and returning to my birthplace. =D

I believe I found your blog via the Cage Free Family.

My favorite thing about summer, especially in Vermont, is that everything is sooooo greeeeeen that it feels like we are in Hawaii. I also love the fact that we can always hit the local swimming hole whenever it gets too hot for us to handle. =)

Something about me…I had a nipple ring which I *LOVED* but had to take off after just one year due to the fact that I was expecting a baby and didn’t want the hassle of taking the ring on and off each time I breastfed my baby. When I’m done with kids, getting another nipple ring will be my first priority! ;)

I have been following you for a year or so. I think I first found you when I went into attachement parenting searches online. Then again I found you when I was looking for vegan folk, and raw food folks online. :)

I have finally convinced my husband to start saving to pay for our own RV. We will be debt free next month (all in a goal to travel the country!) and all extra income will be saved for the RV fund. In the summer of 2010, we hope to be where you were last year! Wish us luck!

And thank you for the wonderful opportunity to win something! :)

We live in the Ozark Mountains and just finished a lovely 4th– fireworks, the 26th annual turtle race, and a kids’ bicycle parade on the square. My two year old was thrilled with all of it; I was too, but I am very happy to have a quiet day at home today.
