Here are a couple blogs that I’ve been enjoying:

Passionate Homemaking
I’m sure some of you are already familiar with Lindsay’s blog, but I just recently came across it. Our interests intersect nicely, so I’ve had a great time peeking around her blog…especially in her recipe section. Good stuff there. Her site is super organized and easy to navigate…and although I’ve never corresponded with her, she just seems like a mama you would want to sit down with over a cup of tea! Currently, she is holding a book discussion and giveaway for a book that I would love to read, Practicing Hospitality. Be sure to check it out!

Ordinary Life Magic
As we delve deeper into our unschooling journey, I’ve been looking for inspiration…and this blog is full of it! It’s a display of one unschooling family’s adventures in their “ordinary”, but magical life. Whenever I look at her photos, I’m reminded to slow down and enjoy life’s ordinary moments and to see the world through the eyes of a child.

What blogs have you discovered (and loved) lately?

I absolutely love the blog for Craftzine magazine–http://blog.craftzine.com/ I found it by just Googling “craft blog” and got sucked in. I especially like how they showcase everything from intricate, professional-level to simple, homemade. And it has a hearty dose of modern, geeky crafts, too!

    Well.
I offer you my prettiest curtsy, and say “Thank you very much, Ma’am.”
    What a lovely compliment!

I have found Keri Smith’s stuff totally interesting: http://www.kerismith.com/blog/index.html.

Although it’s not a blog, it might be an interesting resource for Unschooling – check out Keri Smith’s new book, “How to be an Explorer of the World.” The book is fascinating, even for adults. Some friends of mine and I are working on the explorations ourselves. The introduction to the book can be found on her site here: http://www.kerismith.com/explorer/title.html

There is lots of love for Soulemama. I never include it in my lists because she’s so big that I figure everyone already knows about her :) But I just realized I don’t have her in my Blogroll!

What exactly is unschooling? I am trying to figure it out and I’m confused. Does anyone have a link or something that explains it more fully?

    Thanks!

Unschooling is one “approach” to homeschooling. Here is a good explanation of it: http://www.naturalchild.com/guest/earl_stevens.html

This past year, one of the blogs that has made a difference for me (as does yours!) is A Holy Experience at http://www.aholyexperience.com. You probably already know that one, but if not, it will bless and change you!

Congratulations on having the courage to lead your lofestyle, and most importantly, thank you for sharing with the rest of us! I have just recently found your site and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I ahven’t read all of the comments yet, be feel compelled to inquire if you have plans for providing college education for your beautiful babies, and what you have planned for your retirement (do you see yourself doing this when you are 80:)?) These are the the things keeping us back. I totally get the un/homeschooling, but just have great concerns about my children having the financial opportunity to continue with higher education. We also can’t really see ourselves living in campgrounds or booondocking at Wallyworld for the entire rest of our lives:). Just wondering if you had any thoughts on these subjects that you care to share:)! Peace!
