Sutara Banner Giveaway!
Several of you have commented on my “Rejoice” banner…isn’t it fun?! Well, I have exciting news! Brenna, the mama who runs Sutara on Etsy, is going to do a free banner giveaway for one of my blog readers. You can choose from the “Hope” or “Love” banners in the photo above, or you can choose any other short word (4 letters or less) to have custom made with the fabric/colors that you prefer.
She also has so many cute things in her store…skirts, napkins, wall hangings…and there is a super cute Simplify banner in the same fabric as mine too. She of course does custom as well, you can see all of her creations here. These jeans , this skirt , and this apron are among my faves. This summer, I’m going to have her make a swirly patchy skirt for Bella.
To enter yourself in the drawing for the banner, leave a comment below telling me about your favorite thing to do when you have a day to yourself. The cut off for comments will be Friday, Feb. 13 at 12:00 p.m. CST…and I will announce the winner shortly after that. Yay for giveaways!
COMMENTS ARE CLOSED…Stay tuned for the announcement of a winner!

I move. I warm up slowly with warm beverages and amusing blogs and exercise in the middle of the day (not the crack of dawn when I’m all stiff and the blood’s not flowing). I discovered the joy of this during the flexible schedule of grad school and it may be a prime motivator (that and spending time with the kid) for quitting the office job going freelance at some point.

Oh my goodness! I would LOVE the LOVE banner!!!!
The only alone time I ever have is in the shower! heheheee! And with a little lady sometimes I’m not alone even then!
But that doesn’t bother me because I absolutely LOVE spending time with my family! They bring out the best in me, make me laugh, make me scratch my head sometimes
, but more importantly fill my life with oh so much joy…and LOVE!!!
I’ve been so blessed with Love in my life and for finding your blog! Thank you so, so very much!!! And my thanks goes out to Sutara for offering such a blessing like this for your readers! What a heart!

HMMM my fav thing to do alone would be…ok let me think, iv never had one…a few housr yea, but not a whole day.
I would clean my whole house while blasting my music…take a few breaks outside and enjoy the beautiful landscape around my house (we have lots of hills ad trees) then i would put on some music that dosent have wordS and pray asking god to help me write a poem about him and his glory.
I have to be alone to really get into this which is not very often….i did this once with the lord and he helped me write a pretty cool poem and i know it was him there with me guiding me on what to write for a friend of mine that was going through a hard time…
oh and if i had time after this i would get a massage…ohhhh yeaaaaaa

Oh, I would love to win one of these! =)
I have a constant battle when it comes to any and all time that is “me-time.” I also waver between reading a book (seems I am always in the middle of at least 5!) or creating something artsy/crafty!

since my husband just gave me the gift of almost a day alone (!!!!!!!), the best was 1. turning up music and praising the Lord in the car 2. staying up late 3. sleep in! 4. reading a book from cover to cover in one sitting 5. meeting friends for a meal.

When I have a day to myself, I end up doing one of two things: lying in bed til all hours of the morning, or reading books. I always feel so lazy when I do the former, though… so I try to go for the book option. Philosophy, history, poetry, fiction, fantasy, and pyschology books all fit the bill! Tea is usually a pretty big part of the day, too : )

One my “personal days”, I like to shave my legs, paint mine and my dogs nails, do my hair, and just get all fancied up for my hubby!

I, like many others, would read a great book w/a cup of coffee complete w/plenty of french vanilla creamer:) I might also go for a walk by the water and work on some Beth Moore Bible study at a slow pace rather than trying to hurry through it while my one year old is napping.

If I have a day to myself I usually try and slow down and just relax…usually with some reading…catching up with my recorded shows…play outside with my pup.

I love to wake up to no alarm, then I make some coffee and curl up with a good book. Then I love to make lunch something I usually don’t have time for. After lunch I usually sew or read more. Then I usually do some internet browsing which I usually don’t take the time to do.

A blend of being outdoors (hiking), cooking, and being with friends!

On a day to myself I would start out doing a step class and body flow (yoga-tai-chi) class at the gym. Then I would go see my accupuncturist, and then go have a massage. I would go read in the sun near a lake, river, pool or the ocean, and take breaks to swim when the sun warmed my body to the point I needed a break. I would take a long walk and notice things and people, and as I walked I would talk with Jesus.

A day to myself?
I’d probably write and drink coffee all day and I’d want to at least attempt reading an entire stack of books.
It wouldn’t be all it could be if I didn’t watch as many movies as I could manage. I guess my day would need to be a whole 24 hours;)

When I have a day with no plans, no repsonsibilities or obligations to meet, I load up the girls and go to the zoo. The baby goes in the wrap where she can take in the different plants, animals, and sounds. And the three year old gets to run about, imitating her favorite animals, splashing in puddles, petting the goats (she has a special one that comes right to her as soon as she goes in the pen), and just being completely comsumed with being three! Seeing this amazing place through their innocent eyes makes the whole world feel a little bit lighter and brighter. So much better than a day at the spa ever could be!

I don’t get much time to myself, because I have three children under the age of ten. But when I do get time to myself I like to do several things, go to the library, I love books! Maybe go to the craft store, I have recently rediscovered the creative part of myself and I am always making something. Sometimes I go on a drive to this outdoor chapel near my house called Pretty Place and I just sit and look out over the Blue Ridge mountains and marvel at God’s wonderful creation and try to collect my thoughts and feelings so I can go back to my family in a more peaceful state of mind! I don’t think people realize how important quiet is to their lives. I am learning in my own life how important it is to me! God Bless!

What a wonderful giveaway! Thanks to you and Brenna!
If I had a day to myself I would sleep in, spend some time watching t.v. (something other than sports or cartoons), make a lunch that the rest of my family would typically turn their noses up at and then spend the afternoon working on a project (cooking or crafting) or maybe visiting some new local shops that I haven’t had time to get to yet.

This is amazing! Thank you! I was just looking at my kitchen this morning thinking that a banner would look perfect above my sink, and then I read about your giveaway! As a mom of four under the age of 7, I truly miss reading. If and when I have time to myself, that is my favorite thing to do. Just drop me off at a bookstore for hours…

Oh! How lovely. I’d love to have the “HOPE” banner, as my daughter’s name is Hope.
Lets see…A whole DAY? Wow- if money was not an object I would probably get a few spa treatments and buy myself a stack of magazines to linger over as I ate my lunch from a fancy restaurant. But in all seriousness, a day with NO money spent would be/could be just as special. Sleep in, hang out in bed in my pjs, coffee, read. Do some yoga, eat a sticky bun go to a bookstore and hang out for a few hours, knit or sew, lots of fresh fruit and a Vosges chocolate bar, tea, bubble bath, Indian food take-out (or sushi) romantic comedy or TLC, reading and early to bed, hmmm…heaven on earth!

Having a toddler and a newborn makes it impossible to have a day to myself, but the next time that I have one, I’ll hopefully have my friend give me a massage, make a few phone calls, do some yoga, grab a yummy coffee, walk along the beach with my wonderful hubby, and have some “adult time”
