Simple Woman’s Daybook

I love the simple things in life. Each action, each moment, each sound…they all have significance and meaning. So today’s post will be from the Simple Woman’s Daybook:

Outside my window…
Sunshine and a cool breeze. It’s only 68 here today.

I am thinking…
About cutting up some watermelon.

I am thankful for…

An amazing husband.

From the kitchen…
Lunch was a big salad with all kinds of yumminess.

I am wearing…
Yoga pants and a tank top. I never changed after I did my yoga session this morning.

I am creating…
A home away from home (our new RV!).

I am going…
To travel the country again someday.

I am reading…
The Raw Food Detox Diet by Natalia Rose.

I am praying…

For patience and wisdom in living with and raising a very spirited (and magical) 5 year old.

I am hearing…
A magpie outside. We call them the “Evil Triplets”…it’s a mama birdy and her 2 babies and they terrorize our neighborhood day and night.

Around the house…
Lucy is asleep in the Moby. Bella is sick and is watching Horton Hears a Who in her bedroom. There is “evidence of life” all around. :) Matt is working on a job site.

One of my favorite things…
Is a clean kitchen.

A few plans for the rest of the week…
Bella has soccer tomorrow. Chiropractor appointments on Thursday. La Leche League meeting on Thursday night.  Friday and Sunday photo sessions. We’re also looking forward to finishing up the decor inside the RV!

My favorite one in the list is “I am hearing…”. There is much to be learned about another’s world by finding out what they hear during the day. I love just sitting and dissecting the “noises” around me…there is so much that I miss when I’m not mindful of my surroundings. There is beauty in each sound.  So…what are you hearing right now?

I am hearing silence … my girls are down the street playing with friends after a full day of hanging with Mommy and hubby just got home. Sometimes, silence is golden!

I finished reading Natalia’s two books a couple of weeks ago. Fun stuff. In her second book she discusses fasts including a media fast. I’ve already implemented that one. Good stuff and very revealing about myself. :-) I am hearing our 15 yob play hymns on the piano. Amen!!

I am hearing the fan, bringing in cool air from outside. It sounds and feels lovely!

Unrelated: I saw your RV renovations; they are looking great! We are renovating space in our house to rent out, and so adding a kitchen in our basement. We need to paint the cabinets we got, and I’m curious how Matt did yours; they are just the sheen I am going for! Thanks!

I am also hearing planes over us (we live close to a busy airport, so this is normal.) But then I also hear the quiet- all four kids still sound asleep.

Thank you for doing this. I must say I thoroughly enjoy it, and loved taking a peek at your thoughtful day:)

Blessings to you and yours today.

I am hearing Peter Pan being read on cd to my seven year old and three year old. I hear them using their stamp set… thump, thump, thump… to write letters to their cousins. I hear the whir of the fan in the baby’s room, and I hear my thankful heart beating out a praise song for the chorus of wonderful sounds I am reading from others here.

Thanks for sharing your daybook, Sara! I would really love to do one, but my only time to really write is late in the day… maybe a night book? ;)

I am hearing the hum of my laptop, the indistinguishable chatter of the show my hubby is watching in the other room, and the lovely sound of my sweet son sleeping (translation: no trucks running on the long length of tile in our kitchen and hall!)

I have devoured Natalia’s books. I am currently on a journey towards high raw at the very least. Thanks to you and your green smoothie challenge a little over a year ago! THANKS!

I am hearing the whir of the a/c & the distant sound of taps playing (I live on a military post). Perhaps what means the most to me is what I am not hearing…my wonderful husband tell me goodnight because he is off defending our freedoms.

I enjoyed hearing the sound of silence as the weather is cool enough to not have fans running 24/7.

The silence persisted until I got close to an open window and can now hear the cicadas chirping.

It is amazing to be in the city yet not have the drone of it nearby.

My own thoughts. And sometimes, they are so loud. There is wisdom within these thoughts, if only I took the time to pay attention.
