December 19
{Sweetness}

We spent the day with Nana and Papa…exploring and enjoying Des Moines. While meandering around the Winter Farmer’s Market this morning, we came across one of our favorite vendors, Blue Gate Farm. They had their yummy jams for sale…including such exotic flavors as Shallot Lemon Basil, Cinnamon Pear Butter, and Cinnamon Purple Basil! The Ginger Peach above is one of our faves. After the market, we grabbed a cup of coffee with Rebecca, Mauro, and Bianca and I shot a few family photos for them. After that, we went to the Science Center and saw Under the Sea at the IMAX, then to Gong Fu to pick up my favorite tea, and out for Thai food after that. It was a full, beautiful day.

    I remember a couple of years ago Mauro was ill. Is he out of the woods? (Please God!)

    OoOhhhh I am so jealous youre still able to go to Farmers Markets at this time of year.
    And also, I hope Mauro is doing okay, I remember hearing about their family and I prayed for them!
    Take Care!

    Debbie and Krystal…he is doing good! Thanks for asking. The type of cancer he has (brain) will never fully “go away”, but they just have to keep watching to see if it is shrinking or growing, and so far, it’s not growing.

    This is totally random, but ironic, I am going to be in Des Moines in a few weeks and literally ten minutes ago was trying to search the internet for a good thai restaurant, is there any recommendations you have (since I see you ate at one) or any ones to steer clear of?

    Thanks!
