What a great post. I just found your site. My husband and I are all about de-cluttering our lives, intentionally slowing down and…yes, simplifying. Sometimes we feel 10lbs lighter after getting rid of junk that’s been collected over the years.

In our family, we do a monthly de-clutter. It is very liberating! Giving away items that we no longer need/use frees up, not only physical space, but emotional space, as well. It is so true that less is always more~~~

You are a woman after my own heart. I love purging and typically do it every season. Kids and toys are the big culprits in our house. 3 sets of grandparents = lots of toys! My boys know they have to get rid of old toys before new toys come in. Luckily their b-days and Christmas are 6 months apart so we do 2 huge purges a year. I’m about to tackle my closet today…thanks for the motivation!

Just recently found your blog and gorgeous photos – what an inspiration!!

Our family is currently simplifying our lives from just about every angle. I love your ideas, they are so motivating!

And the idea of a drawer for donations – that’s just what we need – I hate the look of bags/boxes of donations that are sitting around waiting to go out and it seems like we always have some.

Read through some of the archives and can’t wait to read more. Thanks for such wonderful inspiration.

Living in a small space makes decluttering a necessity. We also have an always present ‘go away’ bag. If something does’t fit right, is even slightly the wrong color, or for whatever reason – away it goes. We get most of our clothing from thrift stores, so we have no reason to be attached.
