It’s time for another giveaway from the fabulous Emily Falconbridge! Em makes the coolest camera straps (along with other fun stuff)…I love love love this orange one…and now it can be YOURS!
We stayed with Emily and her family in San Diego several years ago on tour, and have stayed in touch since then. We are SO excited that they are hopefully coming back to the states after being back in Australia for a time.
She has a lot of fun new stuff in her Etsy shop…I could just eat those little Thai fisherman pants right up!! And the headbands…oh my. So cute. Go check it all out!

What I am most excited about this weekend: life.
Five years ago this weekend we held a funeral for my brother who was in his early twenties (an accidental drug overdose). I remember cleaning up his room months later and finding a journal that said “don’t live fake.” So, on this weekend of his anniversary (and all other days) I will be trying my best to not live fake. To stretch my arms out into the world and enjoy what it has to offer.
I will not punch people who whine about line-ups at grocery stores, or coffee that isn’t quite right, or their jobs. I will not tell them to stop fucking whining.
I will step away from them, and into the world. I will pick up my camera. I will hug my daughter. I will rock out at roller derby practice. I will take a jump on the bike trail. I will make kick-ass brownies to eat in the sunshine with a beer.

I am so anxious for this weekend because I have my first opportunity volunteering for ECHO. It is a wonderful organization that helps train people in third world countries how to sustainably farm! I can’t wait to get involved! Thanks for the wonderful giveaway!

This weekend I look forward to getting out into the cool weather and take photographs after 6 weeks in bed firstly with a badly sprained ankle then with pleurisy

I’m excited to just spend time with my husband and baby boy. We’ve had so much going on the last few weekends (last weekend was a long out-of-town-to-visit-family trip), that I’m looking forward to being able to just relax at home. Sometimes it’s the little unplanned times that are the best!!

I’m most excited to go to work. Excited? Yes! I work at the most fantastic museum on the weekends, I’ve been there for 3 years. I LOVE being there, talking to new people and answering questions, and bringing my camera with me.Everyone has a story and I love hearing them.

Oh I’d love that camera strap!! Orange is great. This weekend I am looking forward to getting our new deck started. Our old one literally fell off our house it was so rickety and shamabally. We will be out digging footers Saturday morning.

I’m really really excited about doing nothing this weekend! Sounds really lame but we’ve been so busy the last few weeks with visiting friends and family all over the country and being sick in between those visits, it’s so nice to have one weekend with nothing planned just the three of us snuggling in bed (hopefully not too soon in the morning), eating outside, probably going for a swim and simply enjoying eachother.

I will enjoy the long weekend here in Western Australia & teach my daughter to ride her bike without her trainer wheels! This might not be exciting for some, but for my daughter it will mean the world!!!!

I am most excited about house sitting for some friends who live amongst the most beautiful forest here in northern Illinois. They have lush trails on their property along with an eco-barn made from straw, chicken wire, mud, and reclaimed bleacher wood. The upstairs is finished and we will sleep there
Oh yeah, and we get to play with their 3 huge dogs with a whole lotta love to give.
