As I type this, I am sitting on that same couch in the photo above…but I’m all alone. The house is quiet. The gifts have been opened. Almost everyone has gone…headed out to embrace what 2011 will hold.
I’m thinking back on the past two days, and I am so thankful.
Thankful that our entire family was together.
Thankful that we love each other so deeply.
Thankful that all of us call Jesus our savior.
I take a deep breath and re-live several of the moments from our time together.
Family marbles.
Caramel rolls.
Via coffee. Lots of Via.
Late-night movies.
A new sister.
Bella and The Easy Bake Oven.
Breakfast made by Mom and Dad.
Lucy giving kisses.
Homemade pies (thanks Jess!).
Wedding talk.
Amazing food.
Gifts given in love.
Blessed togetherness.
I hope your Christmas was just as joy-filled as mine was!
*This is the last photo of the official “December Photo Project”. I love posting photos of daily life though…so I will try to continue to post more

sounds like a beautiful family christmas with all the things that truly create happiness. Ours was very similar – we have a much smaller family but we celebrated with my parents – grateful to all be together, to be healthy, to enjoy the children’s delight in their new toys (and to delight in them ourselves, being as they were,in the main, handmade, traditional and simple); enjoying some delicious food, and mostly just enjoying being altogether, loving on each other.

Our Christmas was small and intimate, but equally full of love. (I’m going to ignore the fact that the 23 yr old man-child in my home spent most of the day in his room with his “friends”.)
We invited strangers to have Christmas dinner with us and it was wonderful. (spaghetti and meatballs)

Hi Sara, I just wanted to stop in quickly to let you know how much I’ve enjoyed the photos from the December Photo Project. I began following your blog a year ago when I was three months pregnant. Since then, I’ve stopped in on all of your blogs on an almost daily basis for tips on healthy eating, parenting and following your travel log. You have an inspiring little family and I have really loved checking in each day to see what type of photos you have posted up – I hope you continue to post photos often as you mentioned you might in this blog post. Thanks for sharing fun life with all of us!
Rebecca
