Mail Goodies

Over the years, I have gotten so many lovely little things in the mail from blog readers…and I am embarrassed to say that I haven’t really posted much about it! But this week, I got TWO packages in the mail and it truly made my day…I knew I had to share it with you.

It’s been a fun week, but a little stressful…and these gifts made me so happy. They arrived just in time to put a smile on my face after a couple of really long days.

The felted wool purse is from Jessica in Salt Lake City and the magnets are from Naomi in Indianapolis. Thank you ladies for taking time out of your own busy day to bless mine. I know it takes extra effort to package some love up in an envelope and send it on it’s way…and for your efforts, I am GRATEFUL!

I challenge each of you to mail just ONE thing in the next week…to someone who has been on your mind. It could be a card, a small “nature” something you found outside, a teabag…the options are endless! If you need help, here are some ideas from an archived post about my mail obsession.

Leave me a comment and tell me about a special package that you have received in the mail! Or, if you have already answered that question in my previous mail post, tell me something special that you sent someone!

    Hi Sara!
I’ve been reading Ann Voskamp’s new book, One Thousand Gifts….I was so touched by it, that I’ve mailed it to a few friends this week! I hope they are surprised by God’s grace, too!

I am equally impressed at people taking time out to mail you things. So sweet and thoughtful!!

I just received an overseas package from my mom… with new running shoes and Aveda shampoo. I can’t tell you how pampered I felt!

Earlier this month I sent my godson, Noah, a baby blanket that I made to match his nursery. :)

Thanks for the reminder, I think this is the perfect time to send something little to my grandmother who is at home recovering from surgery.

Getting mail is such a fun surprise! (Much more fun than finding bills in the mailbox!)

Hmm, well I would say hippy packs! It’s something I exchange with my friends and blogger friends. It has a variety or vegan/raw/cruelty free things in it. Love um!

My five year old son was diagnosed with stage 4 anaplasia Wilm’s Tumor (kidney cancer) in December. So many friends and strangers have sent cards and gifts and I can’t tell you how much love I can feel as I open up the envelopes/packages. They are truly like warm hugs waiting for us in the mailbox. It is incredible what something like some fun mail to do to brighten a day!

Love the purse and the magnets!

but to answer your question, a few days ago i received a package that evidently my husband set aside for me and i didnt get until a day later. but it couldnt have been more perfect! i have been really struggling with direction right now, i am coming form a time in my life with no options to a time full of opportunity, and picking the road to go down has been challenging. but in the package where the most beautiful dainty feather earrings, with a note of encouragement from an anonymous sweetheart. as soon as i read the note i knew what direction i wanted to head in, even though it may seem the craziest!!!! just knowing that there is someone out there that wants to stand behind me makes me wanna keep on truckin’!

A while ago you mentioned sending mail to someone. I sent my friend who is 1,000 miles away a tea bag and wrote in the card “let’s have tea together”. She emailed me when it arrived that she couldn’t imagine why I sent a card when it wasn’t a holiday or her birthday and opened it right there at her apt. complex mail area. She said she just burst into tears in happiness and people walking by thought she got bad news so she had to explain it was tea. ha! Thanks for reminding me to get the cards and stamps out! :)

I’m currently still in a “One Tiny Thing” swap and recieved a tin of the most delish cookies yesterday! In return, I’m sending her two small hand-dipped beeswax candles. You don’t know what you’re going to get from each other (which you are paired up with, having never met the person), so it makes it so much fun!

I normally don’t get into Valentine’s Day but this year, I decided to embrace the holiday. So I got a package of valentine’s cards and wrote each recipient a little note about why I love them and how I’m thinking of them :) shhhh it’s a secret! I hope they have as much fun with it as I did!

My sister and I have a box that we mail back and forth, just whenever. We fill it with things that might seem random, but because we know each other so well, and we make the packaging sweet, it never fails to be an intantly wonderful day when our box comes. We use the same box each time and add a little something to the inside of the box before we wrapp it in brown paper and mail it!

About 4 months ago (right before I had Sienna) my best friend sent me an amazing package in the mail. It was huge! She sent those Your Baby Can Read DVD’s (all of them) and my kids love them. She also sent me some Decaf earl grey tea, fuzzy socks, foot soak, and some nice lotion. It was much appreciated.

I received a HUGE box of sheepdog undercoat from my friend’s mom. Just finished washing it. When it is dry,I will card it with wool and spin it into some super softy yarn. An amazing and unexpected gift. Grateful!

I’m glad to see you got it. I tried to decorate it and make a collage on the back of the envelope but they put priority mail stickers all over it.

My sister has been living in australia for the past couple years. We swore to keep in touch via snail mail but neither of us has been very consistent :(

Thanks for this blog. It has inspired me to make her a wonderful care package filled with tea and home made jewelry by my three year old and im working on painting a cigar box to put it all in!
