Oh my goodness! It’s amazing how quickly they can make “masterpieces” on everything but paper!
I hope you can get it off (or flip the cushion over) :)

It’s a slipcovered couch and it has now been washed completely clean :)

Thank God for slipcovers. What a precious little angel you’ve got there!

  • maria

Aw! That is priceless! And yes, it is very true that you will love this picture way more, and for way longer, than you ever have the couch. :) I actually left many an impromtu wall art up when mine were young and even made a little frame around one. Not sure how to frame a couch cushion though, but sure it is quite possible. :D

You know, there are actually comforters made to draw on, wash and draw on again. Thought that a cool idea.

Hey, come to think of it, aren’t cave drawings just “drawing on the walls”? Hmmmm, now I’m wanting to draw on the walls…..yes, I’m a painter.
    (and quite rambley today too)

LOL…and yes, she has decorated every wall in the house as well. The markers are being put away for awhile :)

Slip covers are fantastic with artist little ones in the house

Oh yes, I remember this stage. Don’t even THINK of having a Sharpie in the house. :) Happy Easter Sara and the rest of the Janssen family

  • Barb

    She sure looks proud!

Wow, that is awesome. She is so happy.

I have a 3.5 and a 2 year old. I have friends that have children of similar ages who leave out all the markers, crayons, and PAINT, all the time. All I can think is how???

Oh my! I remember when one of my boys traced his hand all over my slipcover. Thankfully I could take it off and wash it all out!

My 4 year old (FOUR!!!!) just wrote all over our new (albeit Craigslist purchased) leather couch with a ball point pen. Magic Eraser to the rescue. This, one week after he wrote on the computer screen/monitor with a pen. Patience. Patience.

    • Kasi

A baby wipe will take ball point pen off of your monitor, Christine. Not that I’ve had to do that ever…..

all i can say is, ‘oh my!’

  • http://howboutthemapples.blogspot.com Kirsten

HA! FYI – hairspray takes out marker and ball point pen. I know from personal experience :)

We have a slipcovered chair that has been recently cleaned. It is the same color slipcover and it had the same color pink on it prior to it’s latest cleaning:).

Don’t you wish you could get in their little heads and discover what they are thinking when they do this?? “Hmm, that’s a nice clean spot. Maybe I’ll color THERE!” I don’t know.

Glad you were able to clean it!!

  • Katherine

Please share! What kind of slip cover is it? It looks amazing and I’m surprised that it came out clean. I have had a really hard time finding one that stays on the couch nicely. Thanks!

It’s a Crate and Barrel slipcovered couch that we found on Craigslist for $100! Love it.

Oh my! She looks so proud of herself!

I love this picture. It’s a keeper to use in helping raising our kids up to be parents. Just show them the picture and remind them that this kind of stuff just happens. No one is immune so be prepared! :)

ohhhhhh-hohohoooo myyyy! :) it’s lovely indeed, LOL! i have a couple of those wild ones here. my bathroom wall has a slew of characters drawn above the toilet seat that i just left up there because they are so darned cute! i think i saw some marker on the floor earlier when sweeping.. and i KNOW there’s some secret code written on my ceiling (we live on the 3rd floor and the roof slants are the ceiling in the living room) and my almost 15 month old’s favorite thing to do at the moment is sneakily find pens or markers and color on herself!

Hurray for stain removal! My mom saved a bedspread of theirs that I embelished when I was a toddler. Gave it to me when I got my own place. Generous, no?

  • http://rfamilysimply.blogspot.com Khrista
