Prospect or Portland?

Filed under: Community, Food, Life in Longmont

When I think of Portland, I get all mushy lovey-dovey feelings inside. Mostly because of those amazing food carts. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that they are mobile? You know I love little traveling pods! :)

Well, Longmont isn’t quite Portland yet…but we’re getting there! We were SO excited to see food carts in Prospect last weekend…and hope to see them there again soon. After talking to the owners, it seems like they might be there every Monday. I would LOVE to see this entire park packed with people and food carts and love. Yes!

Pico and Quesadillas from Comida

Top of The Hill Grill — A new fave!

BBQ Tempeh wrap with coleslaw and goat feta. Yes please.

Cupcake!

Hey people! Where is my cupcake?!

*I fell in love with Prospect the first time I laid eyes on those funky & sweet homes. Wanna know more? Check out this great Dwell magazine article from 2002.

You are right food carts are the best! I think in Austin, we call them food trailers and they bring a happy mood to any empty lot! We have food trailers in Austin in SOCO (South Congress) and also some spread around the city. “Hey Cupcake” for example (I became addicted to those cupcakes – I was in big trouble), is all around the city.

That’s one of the areas we drove through a lot, but didn’t explore while we were there…and I’m so bummed about it! Next time…

Hey Sara! I love Prospect, when I was pregnant with Emilia, we tried to naturally induce by walking around the cool houses and then ate at the little deli and had eggplant parm sandwich. Of course it didn’t induce labor but we had a great day. Those houses are my favorite, I could see you guys living there but you probably have other tricks up your sleeve! Love and hugs and miss you all!

Being the carbaholic that I am, those fries look yum ;)

Food carts are such an awesome concept. I wish we had more of them here in the Midwest. At the moment all we have is an ice cream truck making it’s rounds in the neighborhood.

The last time I experience a food cart was at the county fair. I don’t think those count. Before that I enjoyed a burger and fries in London, England a long long time ago.
