Bright New Beginnings

On May 24, a sweet blog reader by the name of Jen emailed me and asked if our rig was still for sale. I almost didn’t write her back. After 6 months of going back and forth with “serious buyers” only to be disappointed in the end…I was starting to lose my enthusiasm about it all. :) But I DID WRITE HER back and the rest is history.

You are looking at the new owners of our Veggie Oil Powered Alpine Coach! We couldn’t be more thrilled about handing the keys over to Jen, Jared, and their adorable family. It will be well-loved and will go many exciting places!

We spent a couple of days together after they arrived in Longmont…talking, laughing, enjoying each other’s company…finding we all have so much in common. It was a sweet time of fellowship and play.

A clean slate…ready for it’s new family to move in!

Matt shares some final pointers on the veggie oil system.

Fire it up! The kids were ecstatic as they all piled into their new home. They have a long trip back to California, where they will live in the RV and prepare to hit the open road. We are so full of gratitude not only to have a buyer for our RV, but also for new friends that we will surely have for a lifetime.

And of course…it’s been 7 months since we moved into our little house in Longmont, so you know it’s about time to move out (TRY to act surprised!) :) No really. We are. This lovely Keystone Montana fifth wheel is going to show up at our house around noon today!

We will jump right into remodeling and will move in by the end of the month. We aren’t hitting the road though…just going to live in it and park ourselves around the front range while Matt continues to work in Boulder. We just really LOVE living small and changing up our view once in awhile! There are several nice long-term parks in the area with playground/pool/other kids.

And now you know why I haven’t been blogging too much lately! We’ve been in a sea of crazy and it’s going to be even more fast-paced as Matt goes into his busiest season of the year with his job. We would love your prayers and warm thoughts as we make this exciting transition.

Can’t wait to show you all the inside when it’s done…it’s the best fifth wheel layout I’ve seen in a long time! I picked out paint tonight. Flooring tomorrow. Weeeeeeee!! Thanks for coming along for the ride…

P.S. We still have room for guests! Come and visit us in Colorado!

WoW. I certainly can’t wait to see pics of yet another amazing place. I sometimes think you just like to remodel and decorate and when everything is perfect you have to get a new canvas.

After reading your blog for a while now, and seeing you settled into a house, I wondered how long it would take for you guys to move! lol. I would love to start doing what you are doing, buying a small space and staying in one spot until we could leave, however, we have the winter problem! It’s cold here in Canada, and very snowy, that staying in an RV in the winter just isn’t ideal…although I have heard of people doing it, I don’t think we are the types who are up for that. lol. Anyways, good luck on your upcoming move, can’t wait to hear how it goes!

Very fun. My first thought was, OH NO, they’re leaving CO again! Lol. Glad to know you’ll still be around. Even though we STILL haven’t gotten together :-P just having you here is very nice. Not that you’re here for ME, lol, but I’ll take it! lol.

Great minds think alike, we’re moving in one week after living in our house since Christmas Day. But we are moving to a bigger home in a better school district (because I’m working full time) I am learning what it feels like to lay down roots- my kids know people around us and it’s good. There are some great places to camp in CO, we were going to camp in Red Feather Lakes-check it out, you would love it! It’s about an hour away from Ft collins, I dream of moving to Durango to hang with my friends so since we still have our RV parked at a resort, we never can tell the future of us! Love and hugs to you Sara!!!

I’m curious about car seats in motor homes. I know there is no safe place to put one so what do you do about that? I keep my son rear facing in his car seat and will be doing so until he is 3-4 years old.

It would be nice to see a post about car seat safety and RV’ing!!

Awesome! I was wondering when you were going to pick up and move again. I hope the 5th wheel works well for your and your family. Can’t wait to see the pics of your demo. I follow in instagram, so it’s fun to see what you have going on.

This is totally random, but I remember you saying you were going to post about your smaller wardrobe soon… I would LOVE to see this as my family of 4 just moved into a much smaller home. I’m just curious as to what you decided to keep and what you decided to donate/toss.

Congratulations to you and I look forward to seeing where God takes you next.

So exciting!! Can’t wait to see the layout you chose, that was the hardest thing for us in finding our trailer. Also really looking forward to see your remodel job! Even though we’re living in our trailer now, I’d like to really change things up this fall and look forward to your ideas!

Hey there Lady! It’s interesting, I was just thinking about your RV the other day. Now that I am ‘flying solo’, the only thing that ever held me back from securing my own RV and finding joy on the open road was….well my now ex-husband! Who knows, maybe mobile living is in my future? Lovin’ the 5th wheel, can’t wait to see the magic you work on that!

We are doing the same thing! We are moving into a 5th wheel and my husband is going to continue with his job. We went to look at a long term RV park that’s beautiful here in Austin, TX and we were just like “look at this beautiful grass! and we don’t have to maintain it!”
Congratulations on your sell and your purchase!

Hi, there! I’ve been reading your blog for a while. Congrats on the new “house”, and on selling the other one.

On another note, I love your dreads and finally decided to do my own. I am happy with how they’re turning out, but I have gotten some negative reactions on my blog. I guess I should expect the comments because it’s a love it or hate it hairstyle… but I didn’t expect judgment on my character because of it. How have you dealt with the comments? Have your friends/family/church been supportive?

Oh, and by the way, we are in Portland, OR. I see that you like to visit and I’d love to hook up with a like-minded mama over some coffee or thai food. Take care and thanks for sharing about your life!
