DPP 2011 * Warmer

We’ve had a couple of big snowfalls lately and the temps have been in the single digits. I finally got myself some Sorel boots…and now I am WARMER! Well, at least my feet are warmer. :)

Josh got me sorels, when we first moved up here. Those guys still keeps me warm like the first day I wore them 7 years ago. ^_^
ps, I like those leg warmers…old sweater?

Yep! I love finding old sweaters and re-purposing them! :)

What do you do about the cut edges? I don’t have a serger, and know there must be a technique (zig-zag stitch at shortest setting, etc?) but don’t know it. I tried making arm warmers and when I zig-zagged around the thumb hole, it was just a mess. Any tips?

Jen…I don’t do anything. If it’s a wool sweater, it just stays on it’s on. If it’s one with threads, they will occasionally come undone, but I just snip them and it’s fine. I’ve never had a problem, even with washing them a lot for over a year!

My husband has a pair of Sorels, they are about 20 years old! They still keep his feet warm and he swears by them. Stay warm.

I’ve had my Sorel’s for 4 years now. I’m so thankful for them every Colorado winter! You get more snow in Nederland than we do in Denver so I can imagine yours were very needed.

I love my Sorels! I have the same pair and have been tromping around Norway in them for the two hours of daylight we have up here. :)

Your leg warmers are so cute! Love your December posts. They remind me to appreciate winter rather than fear the short, frozen hours. Brave on pretty mama!
