Weekending :: knits, greens, and painted skies

The weekend is coming to a close…and it was lovely. On Friday, we spent some time with friends in Longmont. On Saturday, Matt went snowboarding in Vail with my brother and his friends, and today we checked out a new church in Boulder and really enjoyed it.

Some favorites from the weekend: my newest passion is in full swing…and I’m LOVING it! It’s so fun to take a piece of string and make something pretty with it. I so look forward to finally sitting down in the evening and knitting for an hour or so.

The sunrises have been phenomenal lately…this particular one took my breath away! (photo is SOC/no filtering! Just the God filter :) )

Yes, more green! :) This one was juiced…apple + lemon + kale. So simple, but so delish. Trying to get lots of greens in every day…mostly in whole foods, but juicing is fun too.

Oh, and as a side note, I’m still very pregnant. At 27 weeks, I’m just entering the 3rd trimester…and feeling larger by the day. And emotional. And sore. And ready to meet this baby! Let the final countdown begin…

Look at you, so adorable and shining like a star! (‘glowing’ just doesn’t cut it) I wish I knew about your newly-found passion sooner, I would’ve added some yummy yarn for you… I guess there’s always time for another package ;)

Thanks friend :) I actually didn’t start knitting until after Christmas…so it wouldn’t have made it in the package anyway! You’re so sweet to think of that though…

It’s from the “Zumi” booth at the farmer’s market in Des Moines…got it about 3 years ago. It’s not maternity, so it’s just about done for a few more months :)

Oh sweetheart, you make me smile! Love your words and “ponderings.”. Love that when we haven’t talked for a few days, I get to know what you’re up to…..I get all weepy just thinking about that new little person growin’ in there! And I so miss the 2 busy bees you have lingering with you each day. Wanna hear more about the church. Love you all!

I’m so glad you are knitting! It’s a weird, pretend yet real bloggy world where you feel like you KNOW these mamas, while you really don’t. I remember reading all your traveling posts and thinking, “that girl needs to knit!”
Agreed, as well, on that top/tunic/dress above- ADORABLE!!

I know you do a lot of thrifting for clothes…Could I ask for a closet tour? I would love to hear more about how you keep a wardrobe down to travel-trailer sized closets but still look so wonderful! Your words match your clothing style so well…Every outfit you are in looks very comfortably like you. Would love to know more about how you pull this off!

Chloe…thank you for your kind words! We don’t live in the RV any more, so my wardrobe is a bit bigger than before, but I still try to keep it pretty pared down. I do have a post in the works about clothing, etc…but I can’t tell you exactly when it might be posted.

Oh the sunset beauty! Your knitting has inspiried me and out local yarn store has the Malabringo Rasta.

Greens are a good idea for anyone but ESP the pregnant ladies and I’ve definitely been missing mine. Smoothies are a huge help!

And you look beautiful but I believe everything about being sore and what not.

You are looking very pregnant my dear, but you look very beautiful. Have fun with your knitting. I’m still learning, trying to make things pretty. Erin is taking off a lot quicker than I. I can crochet, but knitting seems so natural and fun. Can’t wait to see some of your projects.

Sara, you look beautiful! You and my darling daughter are both due about the same time with bambino #3. I love your knitting bag. I have some needles and a friend who helped me get started, but I did not stick with it. I am now returning back to crochet, which I used to do. Maybe I can pick up knitting too..I found a beautiful project to work on as soon as my yarn arrives. It is so relaxing!

It’s a Breville Fountain Compact Juicer. Love it! Super easy to clean. I had a Champion Juicer before and didn’t like it because of the cleaning factor.

Thank you! And I apologize, I see now that you just answered that question right above my comment! I had scanned through the comments for an earlier question/answer, but somehow overlooked that. I make a ton of green smoothies, but I’m wearing out my old cuisinart blender and I’m trying to decide between a Vitamix or a quality juicer.
