DPP 2012 :: Eight Months
Filed under: December Photo Project
Emmaline Claire is EIGHT months old today! She does her best to keep up with her two big sisters. Crawling everywhere (fast!). Standing up on everything. Making big messes. Melting our hearts daily.
*On a side note…if you have sent me a message in the last couple of weeks, I apologize for not getting back to you! When I do the DPP, my inbox tends to fill up with readers asking lots of different questions about our life and such. And while I LOVE interacting with everyone and normally try to respond…during this crazy time of year, I just can’t do it all. Thank you for understanding!! So much love to you all! xo

DPP 2012 :: Passion
Filed under: December Photo Project, Uncategorized
Bella LOVES gymnastics. This weekend was her first “mini-meet”…a non-competetive event where the gymnasts are able to show off what they’ve learned. She did awesome and had so much fun. It’s been so amazing to see her pour her heart and soul into something and never tire of it. She has found her passion!

A new piece on my altar. I’ve admired Mandy’s amazing art for so long, and finally bought a piece. LOVE it. She speaks to my heart.

DPP 2012 :: Hoop
Filed under: December Photo Project
Today as we arrived at unschooling park day, I sent the kiddos to play and I hooped for just a few minutes while Emma slept in the car. It’s been quite awhile since I hooped and it felt SO good to spin and throw and whirl to some delicious music.
*It also happens to be World Hoop Day!

DPP 2012 :: Moments Remembered
Filed under: December Photo Project
My parents were visiting today. Mom and I ended up at the table, sipping coffee in the late afternoon. She held Emma while I read a lovely Kinfolk article out loud to her. We would stop every couple of sentences to laugh and share stories. I am so thankful for her.

DPP 2012 :: Pizza & Minecraft
Filed under: December Photo Project
Tonight we met up with one of our favorite unschooling families at Proto’s Pizza in Longmont. Four adults. Six children. Amazing caesar salad. Wine, beer, and soda with our Neapolitan pizzas.
And of course, Minecraft.
Bella has recently discovered this game, which if you are unfamiliar, focuses on creativity and building…allowing players to build constructions out of textured cubes in a 3D world. Summit and Elle have been playing for awhile, and had a lot to teach her. It’s so awesome to watch them…so passionate about their “worlds” and sharing their knowledge with each other. Soon, we’ll need a server so she can play with them remotely. What fun!
It was a wonderful night. Life is good.

DPP 2012 :: Art Together
Filed under: December Photo Project
This is how many of our mornings are spent. Around our table together. Talking about our day to come. Sister banter. Creativity flowing. I will treasure these days in my heart forever.

DPP 2012 :: Space
Filed under: December Photo Project
I spend a lot of time right here. A lot. Our kitchen is tiny enough that even when I’m standing here, I’m also standing at our kitchen table, in the art room, and close to the laundry room.
I love this space.
And because I do spend most of my days here, I strive to make it a place I WANT to be. Just yesterday, I took down the soul-sucking mini blinds and put up these mind-blowingly awesome lavender and white chevron curtains.
It took me 5 minutes tops to make my space even happier. I didn’t even hem these babies…just cut the $3 remnant of fabric into squares and hung them with clips. I quite like the imperfection of the frayed edges.
I have some amazing incense in the window…and my favorite mug filled with delicious coffee. And you all know my obsession with flags and things that hang
My next project? Yarn bombing the tree outside my window. YES!! Unimaginable happiness. All day long.
So many times, we are STUCK. Paralyzed actually, with how things have always been in our homes. So I am challenging you to make positive change in your space! Something little…with big impact. Create a space you love!
*I’ve started a hashtag on Instagram…#createaspaceyoulove. Post your little changes! I can’t wait to see your space.
